Research Experience
Graduate Researcher
University of California, San Diego
Advisor: Dr. Christopher A. Theissen
September 2025 – Present
- Currently, my research has focused on planetary occurrence rates of transiting Earth/Super-Earths around low mass stars, using their light curves to test the accuracy of their orbital periods and in the hopes of finding new planets!
Solar Physics Researcher
California State University, Northridge
Advisor: Dr. Damian J. Christian
August 2021 – May 2025
- I investigated the coronal heating issue by studying mode coupling in magnetic bright points within the different layers of the Sun to better understand how energy is transported to heat the chromosphere and the overall energy budget.
Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)
Princeton Center for Complex Materials, Princeton University
Advisor: Dr. Andrej Košmrlj
June 2022 – August 2022
- At the Center for Complex Materials (PCCM), I participated in work involving Acoustic Metamate- rials. I looked into elastic wave propagation in compressed phononic crystals, and how they behaved in deforming materials.
Research Assistant
Infrared Processing and Analysis Center (IPAC), Caltech
Advisor: Dr. David R. Ciardi
August 2019 - August 2020
- Using data from NASA’s TESS Satellite, Palomar, and Keck Observatories, I categorized 150+ TESS Objects of Interest (TOI) stars with exoplanets alongside high-resolution image processing with near-infrared adaptive optics.
Research Assistant
Palomar Observatory
June 2019
- Collaborated with Caltech astronomers imaging star systems with candidate exoplanets using the 200-inch Hale Telescope
